Heat Loss is an interactive installation combining time-lapse video, thermal sensors and real-time software. Paintings made of metals, acids and pigments are captured over the course of weeks as they evolve and decay. Both earthly and alien, these topographic surfaces are ruptured by crystalline structures that form complex lattices of enigmatic scale. Reminiscent of deep geologic time, these images become the ground upon which thermal detection converts the audience's body heat into entropic decay.
